  • PPC Annual Competition - Time Sensitive, today is the last day for image submissions by midnight tonight! - The Professional Photographers of California (PPC) is hosting its annual image competition on September 19 and 20, with submissions due September 12. We seek at least ten Coastal California Photographers (CCP) to submit up to six images. CCP aims to win the "Affiliate Trophy" and be the top-scoring camera organization in California. PPC membership is not required to enter. Today is your last day to enter images.


    Event Lead - Gary Parsons is leading the effort to reach out to members and encourage submissions to the PPC Competition. Expect to hear from Gary soon, or reach out to Gary for more information

  • Website Updates - Recent work on the website has focused on the Menu items for Quarterly Competitions and Monthly Critiques.

    • Quarterly Competitions - Updates to the Gallery pages for 2026 and 2025 are complete. I'm still working on updates to prior years.

    • Monthly Critiques - A new page has been completed for 2026 Monthly Critiques. Updates to the page will happen monthly after Critiques occur.

  • Awards Dinner - Bonnie Mercadante, Janice Lindsay and Vicki Stutson are planning our Annual Awards Dinner. Save the date: Saturday, Feb 6th, 2027, for our Awards Dinner. Event-specific information like location, price, etc. will be posted to our Events Calendar soon so you can reserve your seats. If you are interested in helping, reach out to Bonnie.

  • 10/7/2026 - October Critique Peer Review - Clocks - Learn from the feedback of your peers prior to submitting an image to the Monthly Critique for October on the topic of Clocks. Click here to Register

  • 10/12/2026 - Presentation: How to use the Blurb Book Module in Lightroom - This presentation will show you how to turn your Lightroom images into a quality photo book. A photo book provides another creative output you can use to share your work. You can place the books on your coffee table to share your experiences, or give them as gifts.   • 10/14/2026 - Critique: October Clocks - Learn from a monthly judged critique of members' images for the month of October on the topic - Clocks. Each month has a different judge and a different theme. Click here to register

  • 10/21/2026 - Safari: Morro Bay - Only three hours away from Ventura County, Morro Bay is a wonderful place for photography. We will shoot a couple sunrises and sunsets and in between enjoy the sights and sounds of San Luis Obispo County. Click here to register

  • 10/29/2026 - Q4 Competition Peer Review - Quarterly Competition Image Peer Reviews enable image critiques before Image Competition submissions. Peer feedback is typically more friendly and constructive. It's a great way to learn from others. Click here to register
