2026 State Image Competition

Time Sensitive The Professional Photographers of California (PPC) is hosting its annual image review on September 19 and 20, with an image submission deadline of Saturday, September 12. We are seeking at least ten Coastal California Photographers (CCP photographers) to submit up to six images to this year’s competition. The state camera organizations are in friendly competition, and CCP hopes to take home the coveted “Affiliate Trophy” and earn the title of top-scoring camera organization in California! You don't have to be a PPC member to enter the competition. Lead Gary Parsons is leading the effort to reach out to members and encourage submissions to the PPC Competition. Expect to hear from Gary soon. Why Participate? Submitting an image to a judged competition is more than an opportunity to earn recognition—it is a chance to grow. The critique process gives photographers a chance to step outside their own perspective and see their work through the eyes of experienced judges. Thoughtful feedback can reveal strengths they may not have recognized, offer new ideas for approaching their craft, and highlight ways to take their photography to the next level. Even when a critique identifies areas for improvement, that insight can be incredibly valuable, turning challenges into opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow. Each submission becomes a chance to discover something new about your creative voice, build confidence, and continue the journey toward becoming a stronger, more intentional photographer. Peer Review / Prep / How To Tuesday, September 8, at 7 PM, we have scheduled an informal peer review to discuss any images you are considering for the PPC competition. Our goal is to help you select your best images to enter. PPC uses the PrintCompetition application for image submissions. For those who commit to submitting images, we will hold a Zoom session to help members upload their images to the PrintCompetition application. PPC Members For current PPC members, the entry fee is $25/image if uploaded by September 1 and $35/image if uploaded after September 1. You can upload up to six images. Non PPC Members The entry fee is $35/image if uploaded by September 1 and $45/image if uploaded after September 1. You can upload up to six images.
