The “Day of the Dead” celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles is often described as “Halloween on Steroids,” with many participants wearing elaborate makeup and costumes. It is a great event for street photography, as the very colorful participants love having their pictures taken.

About the event
Join your fellow photographers as we photograph the many participants in elaborate makeup and costumes celebrating Día de los Muertos. We'll meet outside the main gate on Santa Monica Blvd at 12 PM, then enter the event at 12:15 PM. Participants have spent a lot of time and money on their costumes and are usually happy to pose for photos.
You must buy tickets in advance because none are sold at the event, and tickets usually sell out the week before.
